Ben - the "good":
Ben is over his cold. We had a rough scare over the weekend when he stopped drinking his bottles and got dehydrated. Thankfully one of my friends is a pediatrician and she gave me some great advice and comfort. While we had to syringe feed him for a few hours, he's back to "normal". He is also just at a super fun age - he is always laughing and smiling (even when he was dehydrated). He loves to jump and bounce (assisted of course) and loves to be sung to. We've tried some new foods with him - veggies - and they are a big hit. He is just growing and growing - almost 17 lbs upon last week's weigh in.
Ben - the "bad":I'm a little worried that Ben isn't rolling over consistently. He's almost 6 months. He did roll from belly to back once last week, but nothing since.
Ben - the "ugly":We've dug our own grave with this one, but we're in that not-so-wonderful phase of sleeping fine as long as we're held / wake up as soon as he's put in his crib phase. Yeah, we held him most of the times in the evenings before bed... okay all the time. It was just easier than fighting the constant waking & crying, and he'd sleep. Now it's not so great, especially as he's so much more alert to the world and has discovered his hands and putting his binky in & out of his mouth. It's just a bad mix come sleep time. The past few times I've put him to sleep on his belly and he's not fussed and slept so much better. I'm not worried as he's almost 6 months, not 6 weeks - his head control is awesome and he can lift himself on his belly. Plus he did roll that once! Unfortunately, I still have to wait 10 mins or so after he is out cold to lay him down. I'd just like to wait another month to Ferberize. And we are still dealing with middle of night feedings. So sleep this week has stunk big time!
Cori - the "good":The kid is all kinds of excited for Christmas. It's so fun to sing Christmas songs with her, talk about the holiday and decorate. We've started talking about the importance of giving at Christmas and she seems to really "get" it. That makes me proud!
Cori - the "bad": I think the sibling jealousy is starting to rear it's ugly head. We've gotten a ton of "hold ME" and "feed ME" and "play with ME" and "don't hold baby brother - Daddy do it! You stay with me!" It's really out of the blue as none of this has happened before. Where has our independent girl gone? The pediatrician said the sibling honeymoon lasts only 6 weeks... maybe he meant 6 months?
Cori- the "ugly":You'd think with the threats of "Santa's watching" she'd be on extra good behavior, but I swear all listening has gone out the window! Plus we're starting to get some back-talk and a lot of flat out defiance. Throw in the three and a half year old drama and her propensity for tears and we have a recipe for a daily disaster. Four HAS to be better than three!
